Illustration Process of
‘Sirus wants to give you a flower’
This is a birthday project created for my friend, based on her original character named Sirus.
I used her drawing below as a reference for this piece.

Animation Process
I started by sketching the character in my own style. Because I planned to animate it using tools rather than drawing frame-by-frame like traditional animation, I needed to plan ahead by deciding which parts would move and in what direction.
I divided the character into three main parts: head, upper body, and lower body. For the head, I separated elements like the hair so they could be animated individually.
I also separated the eyes and mouth into different layers for potential blinking and mouth movement (although I ended up not animating them).
For the upper body, I split the arms into two sections to allow movement at the elbow. I applied the same idea to the legs for the lower body, keeping the structure simple but functional for animation.
Once I had planned the movement and structure, I proceeded with line clean-up and added colour to the character. Below shows how the parts were separated for animation.
After completing the illustration, I exported the file into After Effects and followed tutorials on YouTube to guide the animation process.
